Pootlers Team Swaps

Last weekend I spent two days in Manchester at our "Team Retreat", organised by my fabulous upline Sam Hammond Donald, also known as Pootles. As is always the tradition at these events, amongst all the other fun activities, there was "swapping". For those not in the know, this is where everyone present (over 45 of us!) makes enough of the same project for everyone else and we swap so that we end up with more than 45 different projects to delight and inspire us.

Pootlers Team Swaps

The slight spanner in the works this time was that I was ill the preceding week and totally ran out of time to make my swaps. So I had none to offer. But many the fabulous ladies in our team still "gifted" me one of their swaps - I was so lucky and appreciative!

I have made a video to show you the amazing "swaps" I received. A huge thank you to all these fellow demos - I promise to do better next time! Just click HERE or on the image below to watch.

Hope you enjoyed seeing these and that they have given you some inspiration. I feel as if I now have hundreds of ideas for projects.

New patterned papers (DSP) from Stampin' Up!

Hi everyone,

A late post from me today - I am still catching up after being away all weekend at our Team Retreat in Manchester. Usual story - so much to do, so little time.

Any way, for today I thought I would just pop in here and share with you the video that Stampin' Up! have provided to showcase all the beautiful papers in the new Autumn Winter catalogue. As is always the case, the printed/online versions of the catalogue can never really do justice to the papers but in this video you can see them all in much greater detail. Just click on the image below:

So, did you watch it? Which are your favourites? I have two - Joyous Noel, with its beautiful copper foil details and Frosted Floral which is printed on beautiful white, shimmery paper.

Hope this little insight helps you to make a decision about which papers you might buy.

Back tomorrow,

Tags and Tidings

Hi there,

As you read this I have just returned from a fabulous weekend in Manchester. Our Pootlers Team Weekend Retreat. We have so much fun on these occasions. I have lost count of the number of friends I have made through Stampin' Up! and it is so great to meet up for these training weekends. If you would like to join in the fun, just join my team and you too can discover all the wonderful things that Stampin' Up! has to offer - on top of the discount that is!

Whilst there this weekend, I met up with Gez Carpenter aka Nigezza and did a bit of swapping of our crafty supplies so that we can use and demonstrate some of the products we didn't buy from the Autumn Winter catalogue. And this is one of the bundles that Gez has loaned to me:

Tags and Tidings from Stampin' Up!

I'm so looking forward to playing with this set. Imagine - just one stamp and one pass through the Big Shot and you can have 16 little tags and images to use on cards and other projects.

Jill and Gez Go Crafting

Hi there,

Welcome to another new week and a slightly different blog post from me. One of the greatest things about being a Stampin' Up! demo is belonging to a great community of other demos and making lots of new friends. One of the very good friendships I have made on my Stampin' Up! journey is with Gez Carpenter, who may also know from her blog and You Tube channel as "Nigezza" or "Nigezza Creates".

I've just spent a weekend on a "Team Retreat" weekend with Gez (and over 40 other members of our team!) and we have cooked up this plan to showcase a few of each others projects on our blogs every fortnight. This will give you a chance to see projects made by someone other than me. Gez and I have quite different crafting styles and while I tend mostly towards card making, Gez makes lots of boxes and bags AND is the queen of the mini album. I'm sure you will be as impressed and inspired by her projects as I am!

So to kick us off today I am showcasing a few of the projects that Gez has made so far using the products from the new Autumn Winter catalogue. I'm starting off with this beautiful gift box made with the "Flourish Filigree" stamp set. Just click on the image to learn more about this project on Gez's blog.

Next is this lovely Christmas card in  traditional Christmas colours of red and green (or in Stampin' Up! lingo, Cherry Cobbler and Mossy Meadow!) Here Gez has used the Peaceful Noel set and coordinating punch, making a very effective wreath style card. Again, just click on the image to learn more.

And finally for today, Gez has again used the Peaceful Noel set to create these gorgeous little matchbook style gift boxes, which she used as her swap for this last weekend. I was lucky enough to receive one of these!

So I hope these projects from Gez have given you some Christmas crafting inspiration!

I'll be back tomorrow with a project of my own! See you then,

Springtime Impressions with Textured Background

Hi there,

I'm here today with another card made with the Springtime Impressions die set - I love these dies so much and can't stop using them at the moment.

Again, as is always my style, this is a very clean and simple card but I love it. I cased it from a American demo, Jackie Bolhuis whose blog is called klompenstampers.com.

Can you see the great texture that is created by using the "Subtle" embossing folder? I think I'll be using this a lot!

And to make my card I have used one of my favourite new colours - Highland Heather.

Would you like to receive a card like this? All of my customers receive a hand made thank you card from me every month, so you never know - place an order and this card may be winging its way to you!
