What would you put in your starter kit? £155 product for only £99

Hi there,

As the flyer above says, if you've been thinking about becoming a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, now is the time to turn that thought into action. You can get lots of extra value by signing up while our EXTRA EXTRA promotion is running - until the end of August. And extra £25 in your Starter Kit making a total of £155,  and then a voucher for £8.00 to redeem in August - and all for only £99.

Do you find it hard to visualise what you could get in your Starter Kit? I have put together a selection of products which would be perfect to get a beginner crafter up and running in their new hobby. Of course you can swap anything I have suggested for other products but if you go with my suggestions you will initially be able to make at least 55 cards with lots of non-consumable products left over to carry on crafting.

To start off with, I am suggesting you include in your kit two of our all inclusive kits. First off - the Looking Up card Kit

Looking Up Card Kit Stampin Up

This is such a great kit which makes 15 cards, 3 each of 5 designs and costs £25. And they are great for masculine cards which are always so hard to make. It includes 15 printed card blanks, a stamp set, ink spot, clear block, printed envelopes, printed and foil die cut images and more embellishments - all in a sturdy printed kraft gift box. These kits are great for taking on holiday - all you need to add is some adhesive and scissors!

Looking Up Card Kit Stampin Up

The second kit I would include is the Lots of Happy Card Kit at £33. Again an all inclusive kit with everything you need to make 20 fabulous cards.

Again it comes in a lovely kraft, printed box and includes 20 printed card blanks and printed envelopes, lots of die cuts, 4 watercolour pencils, ribbon, a clear block and a Stampin' Spot. Again just pop in some adhesive and scissors and you're good to go!

If you want to see more hop over to my original blog post about this kit by CLICKING HERE. Here are just a few of the cards I made with the kit.

Those two kits come to £58 together - so what else could you spend the remaining £97 on?

These are my suggestions:

Starter Kit Stampin Up

I would include the "Celebrate With Cake" bundle from the new Beginners Brochure, at £43.50,  and which comprises of the stamp set, a D clear block, two stamp pads and a pack of 20 note cards and envelopes.

And then I would add in another couple of stamp pads - you can choose the colours - a Memento black stamp pad and some essential craft tools - our brilliant snips, some Tombow glue, a bone folder, a Simply Shammy for cleaning you stamps and a pack of stamp cases (one to keep the Shammy in and the others for the stamp sets in the kits once the cards in the kits have been made up.

I made a little video to show you the contents of my suggested Starter Kit for Beginners which you can watch by CLICKING HERE or on the image below.

I look forward to hearing from you - please get in touch if you'd like to have a very informal, absolutely no obligation chat about joining or if you have any questions.

How to die cut "congrats" (and ANY other word) with the Well Written dies from Stampin Up

Hi everyone,

Did you catch my blog yesterday where I showed you this card?

Meant to Be Stampin Up

To make the greeting I used the Well Written set of dies.

Meant to Be Stampin Up

I know it is not easy to see from the photo above, because all the dies are back to front. But if you look closely you will see that there is no "congrats". So how did I do it, you may be asking!

Well, I saw, that although there's no "congrats", all the letters needed to make the word are there in other words. So I took the "co" from "welcome", the "n" from "thanks, the "gr" from "groom", the "at" and the "s" from "sympathy". Tada!!! There you have it - a die cut "congrats".

See how I did it on this little video -  Just CLICK HERE or on the image below:

Then I started thinking about what other words I could made and decided it would be good to see which letters of the alphabet are available. The results really surprised me - nearly all the letters of the alphabet are there - the only ones missing are "j", "q", "x" and "z" - and not many words need one of those!

This given me so many ideas of additional ways to use these dies, including personalising projects with names!

I hope you will find this tip helpful in your crafting. Makes the "Well Written" dies even more versatile and a set that everyone should have in their stash!

Meant to Be wedding card for the Global Design Project

Hi everyone,

After my first entry into the Global Design Project challenge a couple of weeks ago I've been trying to find time to enter again. This week, for GDP198 the challenge is a sketch and I just just had to have a go. Here is the sketch:

And here is my card.

Meant to Be Stampin Up

As you can see I interpreted the sketch quite literally, using the hearts from the Meant to Be stamp set, cut out with one of the dies from the Stitched Be Mine set.

Meant to Be Stampin Up

And are you wondering where in the catalogue I found the "Congrats" die to cut out the sentiment? Come back tomorrow and I'll let you in on the secret!

Hi everyone,

As some of you might know every month I send thank yous out to anyone who has shopped with me the previous month. The packages include a handmade thank you card, a handmade gift and, if the customer has used my monthly shopping code, a product gift.

This month, for all the customers who shopped with me in June, this was the handmade gift.

Noble Peacock tag topper chocolate treat Stampin Up

I used the Noble Peacock Foiled Speciality Designer Series paper and the Scalloped Tag Topper punch to make these little treat packages containing a Cadbury's Freddo Frog.
