Taking a break

Hi everyone,

Thank you for joining me. I wanted to let you know that from today I will be temporarily taking a step back from my Stampin' Up! business for a short while. A week ago today my mum sadly passed away and her death has really knocked me for six. Although it was not entirely unexpected - she was 90 and had a diagnosis of dementia - the end still came more quickly than expected and as I live 170 miles away, I did not get a chance to be with her to say goodbye. My brother, who lives much closer was with her and assures me that she passed very peacefully which is very reassuring.

Looking through my photos, I think this is the last photo of my mum and I together - taken 5 years ago. I have so many lovely memories of mum before she developed dementia. She is definitely where my crafty genes came from. In her retirement she tried her hand at so many crafts - calligraphy, watercolour painting, Pergamano, stamping, cross stitch, knitting.....the list goes on!

I hope you can all appreciate the need for me to take time out for myself and to be with my family. While I am away I will not be posting on here and will not be participating in any blog hops etc, and will not be publishing any videos on YouTube but I may still be around on social media. I am aiming to be back in early July - or before if I feel ready.

Thank you all so much for your support. My online shop will still be open and thank you packs will still be sent out as usual next month.

Bye for now,

The Project Share Blog Hop - New Catalogue

Hi everyone,

Welcome to my blog. Thanks so much for popping in to see me. Today I am taking part in our little Project Share blog hop and for this month our theme is "New Catalogue".

I have to admit I made a bit of a boo boo with this month's project. I thought the theme was "Retiring Favourites" and made my card on that basis! Luckily though I had used a sentiment image from a new stamp set so I am repurposing the same card with the updated theme! That lovely sentiment is from the new set - Simply Fabulous. You can look forward to seeing much more of that set in future projects.

For my the background of my card I used the Brilliant Rainbow dies - so sad that these are retiring. I have been wanting to do something with that lovely border die for ages - and this is what I came up with! do you think of my rainbow background? The cardstock colours I used were Gorgeous Grape, Melon Mambo, Mango Melody, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green and Bermuda Bay. I used one other retiring set on my card - Sentimental Swirls - that's where that little flower is from. The label die is from an older set that is staying with us for a while longer - Painted Labels - so I guess that counts as "new catalogue" too!

I then recorded a video (which you can see below) showing you how to make this card and as usual changed the colours - I went with a blue/green theme for this one using Coastal Cabana, Pacific Point, Granny Apple Green, Balmy Blue, Bermuda Bay and Tahitian Tide.

Do you have a favourite?

Do keep hopping around our blog hop and see what my talented team mates have made.
