Jill and Gez Go Crafting - August 29th

Hi everyone,

Welcome to another "Jill and Gez Go Crafting" when myself and my good friend Gez give each other a bit of exposure on our blogs.

Gez has an amazing blog with loads of fabulous inspiration and really detailed tutorials - just hop over to https://www.nigezza.co.uk/. And also a brilliant YouTube channel which you can view HERE

Today I am starting with a New Home card, which Gez has made using the Rings of Love DSP (patterned paper) which can be earned FREE with any order of £45 but only for another couple of days!

There are several different house images on the DSP so you could make a whole series of these cards - which Gez has!
Pop over to Gez's blog to see more by CLICKING HERE.

Next up, Gez has created a whole series of videos showing step by step how she made this fabulous spiral bound journal. Do have a look!

Read all about how Gez put this together by CLICKING HERE.

Lastly for today, Gez made this set of tags to go in the pockets of of the journal above.

Cracker and treat box dies for Share It Sunday blog hop

Hi everyone,

Welcome to my blog. Thanks so much for popping in to see me. Today I'm taking part in the Share It Sunday blog hop which gives us all a chance to show you whatever projects we have been working on.

I have spent a happy couple of hours recently playing with a new set of dies - The Cracker and Treat Box dies which you can see on pages 45 and 170 in the Annual Catalogue.

This set has the basic die for cutting out the cracker....

...but also loads of other little dies which can be used for labels or for cutting out windows in the crackers. This makes this set so versatile. But for today, I have just used the cracker die and haven't really decorated my crackers in any way.

What I am trying to show you in today's post is how you can use the die to make different sized crackers. Just to let you know I will have a video tutorial out in the coming week showing how I made all these variations.

First of all, I want to show you the cracker as it is made with the die with no adaptations. This will give you a nice sized cracker with 5 sides - perfect for table favours. You could fit in a few wrapped sweets into this box but I realised it was the perfect size to fit a mini Baylis and Harding toiletry. Such a cute way to present a little gift!

I then decided to see if I could make a fatter cracker and so created one with six sides.

I found that this cracker was wide enough to take a Tombow glue although it would need to be made a bit longer too for that.

Need I decided to try making smaller crackers. First a four sided one which again could hold a few sweets, some mini pens/pencils or maybe a piece of jewellery.

And then three sided. The only thing I could think of to fit in this one was a mini pen or a few smaller sweets - Skittles or M&M's for example.

As I said, at this point I hadn't started experimenting with labels or windows but can't wait to get started with that!

So I hope this has given you some ideas for using these dies. I'd love to see your ideas.

Meanwhile, do keep hopping around all the other links to see what everyone else has been up to.

Don't forget to come back later this week to see my video tutorial.

Bye for now, back soon,
