Pootler's Team Blog Hop - Big on Birthdays

Oooh! How exciting is this - participating in my first ever blog hop. I am a member of a fabulous team of Stampin' Up demos and our team is running this blog hop to celebrate the new Spring Summer catalogue which launched on 4th January. All projects in the hop will feature products from the new catalogue and for my post I chose to feature the stamp set "Big on Birthdays".

There are loads of lovely messages in this set but I used just one of them for my projects today.

This is my first sample:

I'm not sure if you see in the photos but the sentiment is embossed in silver making it really pretty in real life. I love the combination of pink pirouette, whisper white and silver - a very delicate, girly card.

I decided to see whether I could make the same design in a colourway more appropriate for a man - I always find it difficult to think of ideas for men and it is my nephew's 27th birthday next week! This was the result:

That combination of very vanilla, basic black and gold changes the whole feel of the card - much more masculine.

Anyone who has followed my blog for a while will have realised by now that my style is always very clean and simple. For me, less is always more and this card design is no exception. However, I did wonder if I could step it up a little and this is the result:

I'm still not sure whether the balloon improves it or not. What do you think?

So here are all three cards together.

I would love to know what you think and which one is your favourite - comment below to let me know!

Don't forget that to order any of the products used, just click on the links below or click on the shop now button at the top of this page. I would love to add you to my expanding customer base. And right now is a great time to buy Stampin' Up products as the Sale-a-bration promotion means that for every spend of £45 you can choose a free product from the special leaflet. All this, plus an extra gift will come to you in the post next week if you use my January Shopping Code

And just let me know if you would like to receive a free copy of the Spring Summer catalogue and the Sale-a-bration leaflet. It would be a great pleasure to pop them into the post for you.

Here is a list of all those participating in the blog hop. You are currently at mine, Jill Chapman, so your next stop will be Lynn Ellis if you are hopping forwards or Sam Hammond Donald if you are going backwards.

Will be back soon with more inspiration,

Jill
