A Beginner's Guide to Card Making and Papercraft - No 1 - A Tour of Our Annual Catalogue

Hi everyone,

For quite a while now I have been promising to bring you a beginner's series to help all of those of you who are new to card making and paper-craft to get started on your exciting journey in your new hobby. Well I am so pleased to announce that today is Day 1! In this course I am intending to cover all the essential things you need to know - what tools you will need, how to select the right products for your projects, the techniques you will want to try, tips for making your cards and projects perfect and of course, lots of simple projects to inspire you to have a go. I will be posting the instalments of this beginner's guide every Tuesday (and possibly on other days too if the mood takes me!).

In order to make all of these posts easy to find to look back on, each one on my blog will be labelled "beginner's" and can be searched for using the search function in the right hand navigation of my blog. And all the videos on my You Tube channel will be added to a playlist entitled "Beginner's Guide". If you would like to make sure you don't miss any blog posts or videos, there are a few things you can do - sign up to get email notifications every time I publish a blog post (in the right hand navigation column of this blog), subscribe to my YouTube channel HERE and sign up to receive my monthly newsletter HERE.

To kick off the series, I thought I would give you a quick tour of our new catalogue. Our Annual Catalogue is a very big catalogue and to anyone viewing their first one, it can be a bit overwhelming. I thought I would give you a quick tour to explain some of the terms used and the products available. Even if you have seen our catalogues before, you may learn something!

So here is the video of the Catalogue Tour - just CLICK HERE or on the image below:

Hope you found that helpful. Please join me again next Tuesday for the next instalment of my Beginner's Guide. And if you don't yet have your copy of the new Annual Catalogue, please get in touch to request one - it would be my pleasure to pop one in the post to you.

That's all from me today. Thanks for popping in to see me. Have a great day,

Get £20 extra stampin' rewards when you spend £200+ on your own order.

This amazing offer is coming to an end today. It is your last chance to place an order and gain some extra Stampin' Rewards to spend on whatever products you like. Rather than placing several smaller orders in the coming months, why not consider placing one large order of £200?  Delivery of each order is £4.95 no matter the size of the order so it makes sense to order more less often to keep the delivery cost to a minimum.

Not only will you have the most wonderful delivery of coordinating crafting products to be excited about but you will also be rewarded by receiving Stampin' Rewards.  You would normally receive 10% in rewards of what you have spent (over £150) but if you spend £200 in June you will receive 10% of your product spend PLUS an additional £20.  So on a £200 product spend you would get £40 to spend on anything you wish including the Host Stamp Sets at the back of the catalogue (page 187)

This is a really great deal and it ends today - 30th June.  Be sure to place your order by 10:00pm tonight to qualify. The offer officially closes at 10.50pm but the website is always very busy at the end of our promotions so play safe and order by 10.00pm!!  Make sure you DO NOT use my Monthly Shopping code so that the Stampin' Rewards can automatically be added to your order. Please don't miss this amazing offer.

All the products I have used to make this project are available from my online shop. Simply click "Shop Now" button on the top of this page or click any of the images below to go direct to that item in my online Stampin’ Up! shop. If you order from my online shop please use my monthly shopping code (below) to receive a free thank you gift from me as I really appreciate your business. (If your order is £150 or more then please do not use my code as you will earn Stampin' Rewards in your own right and can choose your own freebies!)

If you would prefer a more personal service, have any questions or need help with your order, please either send me an email or give me a ring. I'll be more than happy to help. You can also find me on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and YouTube - links on the left of this page.

The Notes of Kindness Kit in my Buy One Get One free Sale

Hi everyone,

Little bit of a different post from me today. When the previous catalogue was first released I went a bit mad with my orders and some of the things I bought I never had time to use. And now we are onto the next catalogue and realistically I know that many of those things, although I still love them, will probably never see the light of day as I have all the new catalogue goodies to play with. This kit is a case in point. It is a beautiful all-inclusive kit with everything you need to make 20 amazing thank you cards but it is surplus to my requirements and so I am offering it as part of my Buy One Get One Free Sale.

Here are the four cards you can make with the kit - there are enough materials to make 5 each of these cards with lots of bits and pieces left over.

So what is in the kit? Come and take a look. First it comes in this lovely box - really sturdy, pretty and useful.

And then there is this 6 piece stamp set, a decent sized clear block and a Basic Black Stampin' Spot Ink Pad. You will, of course, be able to add these items to your stash to use in future projects.

There is also a sheet of Dimensionals, a spool of copper thread and a sheet of self adhesive pearls. Again there will be some left over to use on future projects.

The kit also contains 20 pre-printed card blanks, printed on sturdy card stock. They are printed in greens, mostly Soft Sea Foam, in a lovely watercolour effect.

To complete your cards there are five sheets of ready to push out die cut images.

And self adhesive banners.

And five die cut, self adhesive "thank you"s, with also Danke and Merci.

If you'd like to see the kit in more detail, you can watch my video by CLICKING HERE or on the image below.

You can hop over to see everything in my Buy One Get One FREE Sale by CLICKING HERE. I am adding more items, from the recently retired catalogue as quickly as I can.

Don't miss this amazing offer - ends in two days - 30th June.

If you spend over £200 you will get your usual Hostess Rewards (at least 10% of your order value) and an EXTRA £20 on top too! That means for a £200 order you get to spend another £40 on FREE stuff. Lots of you have been taking advantage of this amazing offer this month and I don't want anyone to miss out. This offer finishes on June 30th - don't leave it til the last minute to get your order in as the website gets very busy. Just CLICK HERE to go straight to my online shop.

Until the end of June 2020, there is also an AMAZING Joining Offer starting. In addition to the usual Starter Kit Offer (£130 worth of your choice of product for only £99), you can add ANY Stamp and Punch or Stamp and Die BUNDLE, that means you could save an ADDITIONAL £55.75 (€72.75)! Ask me for more details - there really is no catch!

Video Tutorial for Happiest Birthday card

Hi everyone,
How is your weekend going? After a week of very hot weather (in the 30's!) here in the UK, it has been dull, rainy and windy today. And more to come tomorrow I think. A good excuse to just stay in my craft room!

If you caught my post yesterday you will have seen my entry into the Ink Stamp Share blog hop, where our theme was new products.

As promised I'm back today with the video tutorial to show you how I made it. And this time I remembered to turn off the fan before opening the embossing powder!!
As usual I used a different colourway for the card on the video - I just substituted "Balmy Blue" for "Highland Heather".

And here is the video for you to watch. Just CLICK HERE or on the image below.

Hope you enjoyed that!

Please pop back to see me again soon,

Ink Stamp Share June blog hop - New Products

Hello everyone,

How are you doing today? Have you got an exciting weekend lined up? I'm starting off my weekend by taking part in the Ink, Stamp, Share blog hop where we are focusing on New Products from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue. You should have arrived here after seeing the amazing project by Lisa Edwards Kmiec.

My card today uses two new stamp sets - the Blossoms on Bloom set I have already shown you previously. But this fabulous birthday greeting is from a set called "Happiest of Birthdays".

I started off by stamping one of the small flowers from Blossoms in Bloom randomly over a card blank made from our thick Whisper White. I stamped the flowers in Highland Heather, some at full strength and some "stamped of". I then added leaves in Granny Apple Green and centres for the flowers in Daffodil Delight.

Then I took another piece of Whisper White and stamped the Happiest of Birthdays sentiment in Versamark before covering it in silver embossing powder and heat embossing. I was making this card on one of the hottest days of the year here in the UK and had two fans on at full power in my craft room. I learnt the hard way that embossing powder and fans are not a good combination. Everything in my room was covered with a fine layer of embossing powder!!

However, the silver embossed sentiment is very pretty - you can see it better on the photo below.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my project - do pop back tomorrow to see the video tutorial. There are still so many other amazing projects to see so please carry on hopping. Next up is my good friend Gez Carpenter - do hop over and see what she has been up to!

Just in case you get lost, here is the complete roll call.
