#9 Card Making for Beginners - Using Stampin' Write markers to stamp

Hello everyone and welcome to the 9th in my series of Card Making for Beginners. Today we are going to be looking at another stamping technique - using marker pens to achieve multi-coloured stamped images.

I made a sample of what this card would look like using regular stamp pads to show the contrast.

As you might be able to see, the colours are a lot deeper and more vibrant using stamp pads, but each image is just one block of colour. There is a way to achieve a two tone effect using stamp pads but that is for another day. Today we are focusing on using Stampin' Write marker pens. These are water based pens which can be applied direct to the rubber and as you can see, create multi coloured images. I've used just two colours for each of my images but there is no limit to the number of colours you can use.

The important element of this technique is remembering to "huff" on the coloured rubber stamp, to remoisten the colours, before stamping. You can see exactly how to I made my card by watching the video tutorial by CLICKING HERE or on the image below.

I do hope you will give this technique a go - it is fairly labour intensive but produces some great images. Give it a go on some sentiments - lovely to have a multi coloured "Happy Birthday" etc.

I'll be back next Tuesday with more inspiration for beginners. Til then, Happy Crafting!
