Stamping INKspirations June Blog Hop - Splish Splash

Hi everyone,

Welcome to my blog today. Thanks so much for popping in to see me. It is time for this month's Stamping Inkspirations blog hop and our theme for this month is Splish Splash.

Oh boy - this theme really had me scratching my head and I almost pulled out. I don't have any water related stamp sets - no boats, no fish, no rainy stamps. And then, just as I was thinking of giving up, I caught sight of a piece of scrap paper I had used to stamp off some of the reverse little leaf stamps from the Back to Back Blooms set.

It occurred to me that stamped in the right colours they could look like little waves. So I stamped them in Pool Party, Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay.

Stamped like that they reminded me of a cool swimming pool or maybe turquoise waves lapping on a golden beach. Adding the cocktails made me think of sitting by a pool (or on a beach) sipping cocktails in the sun!

So what do you think? Did I get away with my interpretation of the theme? I hope so. Please do leave a comment if you have time.

But meanwhile, make sure you keep hopping around all the other blogs - some amazing projects for you to see and be inspired by. Next up is Susan Simpson who has a fabulous project for you!

#5 - Card Making for Beginners - Series 2 - Reversible Stamps

Hi everyone,

Welcome to my blog. Thanks so much for popping in to see me. Today is another post in my Card Making for Beginners Series 2 and I am showcasing reversible stamps. These are stamps that can be stamped two ways, to get a lined image and then a fill in. The stamp set I am using today is Back to Back Blooms - you may have seen me using it on our live crafting session at the weekend.

Each of the images can be used both ways round, making it an ideal set for beginners as no other colouring tools are needed.

Here is today's card.

I stamped the background with the main flower image in Mando Melody on the same colour card stock.

I used Pumpkin pie ink to stamp the main flower image, then turned the stamp over and used the solid stamp to infill the colour in Mango Melody. The leaves were done in a similar way, although this time I just used Pear Pizzazz and stamped it off before adding the infill.

As usual, the stamping inside of the card reflected the front of the card.

If you'd like to watch the video showing how I made my card, you can see it by CLICKING HERE or on the image below.

I hope you found that interesting and helpful. Sadly this stamp has now sold out but there are other reversible stamp sets in the catalogue if you'd like to have a go at this technique.

Back next Tuesday with more Card Making for Beginers!

Live Crafting with Back to Back Blooms

Hi everyone,

Welcome to my blog today. Thanks so much for popping in to see me. Yesterday, being the first Saturday of the month, it was time Gez and I to go live on our Facebook group - Come Crafting with Jill & Gez. For this month we chose as our theme "Retiring Favourites". As the Spring/Summer Mini Catalogue will sales period will finish at the end of the month, there are a lot of products which will be discontinued. Two of those products are the Back to Back Blooms and Vine Design stamp sets which are the ones I chose to use today. Sadly, after the session I checked in the online shop and Back to Back Blooms has already sold out.

But anyway, here is the card I made.

I first stamped the line images in Memento ink and then turned the stamps over (they are "reversibles") to fill in the colours. The label and the sentiment are from Vine Design.

The colours I used were Fresh Freesia, Pool Party, Granny Apple Green and Pear Pizzazz.

You can watch my part of the live crafting by CLICKING HERE or on the image below.

And here are the cards Gez made in her part of the live session.

You can watch her video HERE.

I hope you enjoyed our session today. Please join us next month if you can.
