Pinkies Retreat Swap Cards Part 1

Hi everyone,

Some of you might have read on my social media that last weekend I spent some time at a Weekend Craft Retreat. Of course, it was "virtual" in these times, which was nowhere near as good as meeting up in person but it was fun with a total of 9 Make n Take projects, with all products needed supplied in our "kit" and lots of chat and laughter in our Zoom Craft Room.
One of the things we like to do at any event when we get together is to "swap" - we all make a number of identical cards or other projects and then swap amongst ourselves so that we end up with different projects to inspire and delight us. For this event we were put into groups of 6 and could choose which swaps to participate in. I chose to do the "Die Cutting" group and the "Use any bundle" group.

Today I am showing you the swaps I received from the "Die cutting" group. Starting with this beautiful card by Lucy Tustian.

Lucy has used the Positive Thoughts stamp set with the Nature's Thoughts dies. And the sentiments are from the Ornate Thanks set.

Next up is Sylvia Lawrence. Sylvia has used the Whale of a Time DSP along with the Whale Done stamp set and the Whale Punch. This card holds a great surprise when you open it up.

Look how fab this card is in the middle.

You can see the mechanism of this card in the photo below.

The next card is made by Helen Broxap and features a suspended element.

This photo shows the reverse of the suspended element.

Belinda Wells made the next card - using the Warm and Toasty Stamp Set along with the lovely foil printed Wonder of the Season Memories and More Card Blanks and envelopes.

And lastly, this card is made by Claudette Cambridge-Pratt aka Crafty Claudette. Claudette has used the Poppy Moments dies and Painted Poppies dies to make this stunning card.

And so, those are the cards I received. I hope you've enjoyed seeing them. If you'd like to see them in a bit more detail, you can watch my video by CLICKING HERE or on the image below.

That's all from me today. Come back tomorrow to see the swaps I received from the other swap group and then later in the week to see the cards I made for the swaps.

Bye til then,

A Little Note card with Positive Thoughts from Stampin' Up Video Tutorial

Hi everyone,

Hope you are having a good day. Thanks for popping in to see me. Today I am bringing you another version of a card I posted a few days ago plus the video tutorial to show you how I made it. For this card I changed up the colours a little, using Highland Heather, Soft sea Foam and Crumb Cake.

I love having a few of these "just because" cards in my stash, to send out to friends and family. I think this one will be heading to my mum, who is in a care home, suffering with dementia. I try and send her a little something every week.

Here is the original card, made for a colour challenge. The colours were Rich Razzleberry, Mint Macaron and Soft Suede.

If you would like to see how I made the card, using the Positive Thoughts stamp set and Nature's Thoughts dies, you can watch the video tutorial by CLICKING HERE or on the image below:

This card is not really my style but I enjoyed stretching my comfort zone a little and I think my mum will love it!

Back soon,

Jill & Gez Go Crafting - March 30th

Hi everyone,

Welcome to our fortnightly "Jill and Gez Go Crafting" when myself and my good friend Gez give each other a bit of exposure on our blogs.

Gez has an amazing blog with loads of fabulous inspiration and really detailed tutorials - just hop over to https://www.nigezza.co.uk/. And also a brilliant YouTube channel which you can view HERE

Just recently Gez has been making a whole load of projects using the Flowering Foils papers which are part of our Saleabration offer. Spend £45 and you could get this paper pack for free. But don't hang around - Saleabration ends tomorrow - 31st March.

Anyway on to Gez's projects. For all of these Gez has been showing different ways to colour the foiled papers. First up is this lovely, simple card with a sentiment which is oh so appropriate for the current times.

Flowering Foils Positive Thoughts Stampin Up

You'll have to pop over to Gez's blog to see how to make it - read all about this project HERE.

Next is this beautiful gift bag which Gez made on a Facebook Live video a couple of days ago.

Lastly for today, is the card Gez made to match the gift bag above. On both the bag and the card Gez used dies from a new suite of products - Ornate Garden - which will be available to buy next month.

Read about both the gift bag and the matching card on Gez's blog HERE.

Hope you've enjoyed seeing Gez's projects today and that you'll pop over to see her fabulous blog. I'll be back with more from Gez in two weeks!
